something some other white dude has already written about re: commitment

i love training

last night I tried to do day 2 of roub's program the day after day 1, which had a rest day programmed, so my legs felt dead as we shall see

(day 1: 
back squat (week 1 day 1 russian template)
120x2x3, 125x2x3
left calf compression pain and right hip impingement/tear sort of pain, but manageable
fuck i really need to sort this out
last week the hip thing seemd to have subsided
soft tissue work and distracted mobilization might really work if I do them more often
maybe so much so that I'll even try to do it tonight

Day 2
I picked up kevin on the way back from my grandmother's house around 7 and we went to FPP, hoping to be done by 9:30, which was fulfilled. 

a reasonable warmup with foam roller for my sartorius (a word i learned yesterday) and basically full body, along with distracted hip mobilizations

Snatch Pull + Snatch
warmed up with bar + 10kgs several sets....

my legs just felt dead in the second half of these sets, like didnt want to do the work, werent able to pump
75x(1+1)  I was supposed to do four reps here in one set i.e. 1+1x2 but I didnt read the template correctly
second attempt at 75 I wanted to pass out after the pull; it felt very bad
I lay down with a foam roller on my back and breathed, which was nice and peaceful
I was exhausted from being sick and working a full day and stressed from having an essay deadline rapidly approaching that I feel so abstracted from
not in the sense that I dont know what I'm writing about but
that I just keep rewriting a thesis over and over, or an intro or overview
I've literally written this thesis tens of times and I don't know what I'm doing
I guess that's writer's block?

at this point I became very tired weak and confused so I just alternated exercises
doing a fraction of the intensity prescribed:
snatch pull
75x3x3 (instead of the 90-110% prescribed)

(power clean was not prescribed, no real weights prescribed from coach, just get pump)

just against the floor so these are all partial reps but it felt fun and i did more than usual

Kevin and I hung onto each other for decompression, I got him real good hanging onto his hip but for me it just felt like a too-strong stretch in the shoulder/bicep.

I drove him home and chika gave me incredible deep fried snacks - potato+onion+pork

I got home and ate goat yoghurt and protein powder and nuts and the rest of the snacks

took BCAAs+whatever before and after because that's what J. Feigenbaum said to do because i'll do whatever some stronger looking guy on the internet tells me to do

magnesium and zinc and went to bed tossing and turning, six hours sleep, bad; 8 hours the two previous nights was so precious

does writing all this down do anything
